Three different customizable OSD screens to select in-flight.
F16 screen
- graphical display emulates real F16 HUD.
Simple screen
- minimal display with critical information
Map screen
-The new map screen shows your current position ,home position and up to 4 waypoints.
Many options exist in the menu to adjust the display to your liking. for example, adjust the screen width, adjust flight path marker position, enable disable: compass, altitude/speed ladders,
variometer , etc.

Left, new map screen. Displays home position and up to 5 waypoints.

R: 250 , means the circle radius is 250 meters.

Autopilot
,
Fly out of the box, with the new RVOSD gen 4 autopilot. Default dettings have been tuned to work right out of the box with very minimal tuning.

Highly recommended, optional IR stabilization sensors are required to take advantage of new autopilot features and easier tuning. You can use the basic return-to-home autopilot without them; but flying in high winds and or with unstable airframes, without the IR stabilization sensors installed, is risky and not reliable.

The autopilot supports traditional airplanes with rudder/aileron, elevator , and throttle control as well as flying wings with elevon control. Because flying wings are not inherently stable, and will not return to level flight when flight controls are centered, the IR stabilization sensors would be required for autopilot. It would be very difficult to setup the autopilot to work reliably with flying wings, without the IR sensors.

Autopilot modes:
-Automatic return to home if R/C control loss is detected.

Special autopilot modes which can be activated by spare RC channel:
-Return to home
-Fly-by-wire mode (requires IR sensors)
-Level flight stabilization (requiresIR sensors)
-Heading hold (requires IR sensors)
- Position hold (requires IR sensors)
- 16 waypoints , 3D waypoint sequencer (USA and Canada only)

IR Stabilization sensors sold separately.

Artificial Horizon

-The best/biggest/most accurate artificial horizon. You must have the IRstabilization sensors for AHI (artificial horizon).

GPS

10Hz update rate for GPS. Solid GPS signal even during inverted flight.

5V/2.5A switching power supply and power rail filter. 6-30VDC input.

You can use 5V camera/transmitter and power it with RVOSD - all from your main flight battery. No need to carry extra video battery onboard your plane.
For 12V cameras/tx's , there is a power rail filter- so you can use your main flight battery (3s lipoly - or other 12V) without interference from the motor or ESC.

Menu

All of the RVOSD's settings can be adjusted at the flying field . Is your RVOSD buried deep in the fuselage of your plane? No problem!
The IR remote is powerful enough to penetrate thick foam. The new IR remote comes with a number pad. Entering waypoint coordinates is very fast.

RSSI
Supports RSSI measurementt to display R/C signal strength in % or bar graph. Can calibrate to work with any R/C receiver which outputs a voltage as RSSI.

More features of RVOSD gen 3....

Multiple screens can be selected in flight via spare RC channel
Multiple autopilot modes can be selected in flight. The autopilot can be adjusted in-flight.
F16 graphics
Artificial horizon
Map screen
Summary screen at the end of flght. Max speed, altitude, etc
16 programmable 3D way points. For navigation and or for autopilot. The autopilot waypoint sequencer mode is available to USA and Canada customers only.
10 Hz GPS with fast satellite lock time ( under 30 seconds )

NTSC/PAL autodetect
Two different home indicators- full size and compact versions
Display both ground distance and line-of-sight distance from 'home'
Imperial or metric units selectable
Call sign display which complies with FCC regulations for high power video transmitters.
User customizable display options...too many to list.
altitude,battery,distance warnings user programmable

Autopilot and failsafe system. RVOSD will fly your plane home automatically upon loss of RC signal. Support for FMA IR stabilization sensors (and Rangevideo sensors)
Able to change autopilot settings in-flight via RC controller! autopilot comes pre-set with defaults to fly right out of the box!
Waypoint navigation. You enter the waypoint in the main menu. RVOSD will display navigation data to that waypoint in-flight.
0-100 amp current measuring.
Two battery voltage measurements.
Temperature measurements.
RSSI measurement

USB software updates regularly released to address customer requests.

Integrated power supply and filter for a very wide operating votlage range( 6 -35V)
The filter enables you to use one battery to power everything from one battery pack : ESC/motor/OSD/camera, etc. without interference.
Robst hardware design with reverse polarity, overvoltage, and input protection.

User selectable output voltage for video camera and transmitter: clean 5V or filtered supply from main battery pack.

OSD is Plug and play with RangeVideo Aerial Video System .

FAQ:

What is the RVOSD?

Are you a beginner to FPV (first person view) flying and or don't have any experience with electronics? Do you want to fly your model airplane to another town and back? Do you worry about getting lost or losing your airplane?

The RVOSD is a must have device for FPV. Firstly, the RVOSD is like the "motherboard" of your new FPV kit. All on board FPV equipment (video transmitter, camera) connects to the RVOSD. The original video from the camera does not have any OSD telemetry, its just a clean video feed. All of the white text/graphics shown in the example videos are done by the RVOSD. The RVOSD superimposes the data right onto the video and then outputs a new video signal which is then in turn fed to the wireless video transmitter.

The autopilot works with your standard R/C gear.

When R/C link is lost, the autopilot will be engaged automatically and the airplane will fly back home. At that point the R/C link will be strong enough to regain control of your model.

Other autopilot modes include

-Fly-by-wire mode (requires IR sensors)
-Level flight stabilization (requiresIR sensors)
-Heading hold (requires IR sensors)
- Position hold (requires IR sensors)
- 15 waypoints, 3D waypoint sequencer (USA and Canada only)

These autopilot modes need to be activated with a spare R/C channel, and are not activated automatically.

What else do I need for FPV?

If you want a plug and play video system to go with your RVOSD, then you need to take the Rangevideo Aerial Video System.

Goggles / TV
Video tx/rx
Camera

The Aerial Video System linked above includes the camera/tx/rx.
